In the small town of Pima, Arizona, a heart-wrenching discovery was made on October 16, 2025, when police conducted a welfare check at a residence on South Main Street. Inside the home, they found the bodies of four family members, all of whom had been fatally shot in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide. The victims were identified as 31-year-old Justice Jones, a white female, and her two young children, 10-year-old Kyle and 8-year-old Tyme.
Also deceased at the scene was Justice's father, 64-year-old Duane Michael Jones.
Authorities from the Pima, Safford, and Thatcher police departments, along with the Graham County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation suggests that Duane Jones shot his daughter and two grandchildren before turning the gun on himself. The firearm was reportedly found in his possession when his body was discovered. As the suspected shooter is deceased, no arrests have been announced in the case. The bodies of all four individuals were transported to the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner in Tucson for autopsies.
Family members were left shocked and searching for answers in the wake of the tragedy. A relative, Breana Flores, mentioned that there were no known mental health issues concerning Duane Jones. However, she did recall a cryptic Facebook post made by Justice the night before the incident. The post simply said 'Good night' accompanied by a strange emoji, which in hindsight, Flores believes indicated that something was wrong. The community has been left to mourn the loss of Justice and her two children, who were remembered by their art teacher as 'incredible kids with a bright future.'
