Ty'el Daveon Jones, 25, a Black male from Lawrenceville, Virginia, was shot and killed late on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office were called to the Cedar Grove Road area around 11 p.m. and found Ty'el Daveon Jones outside a home with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
