On the night of May 17, 2025, Larry Davis, 16, Black male, was found with a gunshot wound after Rocky Mount police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 500 block of Center Street just before 10:30 p.m. Officers and EMS rushed Larry Davis, 16, male, to UNC Nash Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The Rocky Mount Police Department later identified the victim publicly as Larry Davis, 16, male, and confirmed the timeline of the call, response, and hospital transport.
