On the evening of May 22, 2025, 19-year-old Adam M. Darrah, a male from Glens Falls, NY, was fatally shot on a rural road in Fort Ann. He was in the company of his friend, 19-year-old Marcus J. Macaulay, who was also killed in the incident. The two young men were discovered with life-threatening gunshot wounds in the roadway on Clay Hill Road by passersby at approximately 9:00 p.m.
Emergency services transported both victims to Glens Falls Hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly led law enforcement to identify suspects. David M. Larose, 20, of Albany, was taken into custody in the early hours of the following day, May 23, 2025. A second suspect, 18-year-old Jordan P. Johnson, also from Albany, was arrested later that evening. Both men were charged with two counts of second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon. Court documents later revealed that the motive for the killings was believed to be a robbery that the suspects were allegedly carrying out when the shootings occurred.
Court proceedings began for the accused, and both Larose and Johnson were held at the Washington County jail without bail. Johnson faced an additional charge of tampering with evidence, as he allegedly sent a text message to a woman instructing her to dispose of bullets and erase evidence from Larose's phone. In a significant development in the case, on October 3, 2025, David Larose pleaded guilty to two counts of murder in Washington County Court. As a result of his guilty plea, he faced a potential sentence of 24 years to life in prison. The case against Jordan Johnson was still pending following Larose's plea.
