On the evening of July 21, 2025, in the city of Beacon, New York, a 911 call was placed by 52-year-old Edison Irizarry, a retired City of Beacon Police Officer. In the call, he stated that he had shot his roommate. When police arrived at the Rombout Avenue residence, they found 58-year-old Casey Wilbur Cuddy, a male, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The investigation was turned over to the New York State Police due to Irizarry's history with the local police department.
