Victor Zheng, a 16-year-old City College student, was fatally stabbed on February 7, 2011, in San Francisco's Ingleside neighborhood. Victor and a friend were walking on Holloway Avenue around 10:45 p.m. when an unknown man approached them, punched Victor without provocation, and walked away. Victor and his friend decided to follow the assailant, but when they reached the intersection of Ocean and Capitol avenues, the man turned around and stabbed Victor in the chest. The suspect then fled in a black two-door Honda with chrome rims. Victor was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital but died from his injuries shortly after arriving there. His friend was unharmed during the incident.
Victor was a student at both Balboa High School and City College of San Francisco. Authorities released a sketch of the suspect, describing him as an Asian male between the ages of 18 and 19, approximately 5'10" to 5'11" tall, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds, with dark hair, dark eyes, and possibly a mole on his upper right cheek. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, baggy blue jeans, and black tennis shoes. The motive for the attack remains unknown, and it is unclear if Victor knew the suspect. As of now, the case remains unsolved, and San Francisco police are encouraging anyone with information to contact their homicide investigators or use the anonymous tip line to provide leads that could help bring the perpetrator to justice.
