On the night of June 14, 2025, Derone Jones, 32, a Black/African American man, was shot in Northeast Baltimore near the intersection of Frankford Avenue and Sinclair Lane. Officers were dispatched just before midnight after multiple calls reported gunfire; they found the 32-year-old with gunshot wounds in the 5300 block of Frankford Avenue and rushed him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
