Lamar Thomas, 18, a Black male, was shot in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on Friday, September 26, 2025, and later died at the hospital. The shooting unfolded just after 1 p.m. near the intersection of Packard Street and Platt Road, outside a strip mall where witnesses described an exchange of gunfire as Thomas exited a business. Police emphasized that the violence appeared targeted rather than random. Nearby schools were briefly placed on lockdown as officers secured the area.
