Luis Canedo, 51, a Latino man, was shot in the early hours of Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, in East Los Angeles. Deputies were called around 2:30 a.m. to the 300 block of South Woods Avenue, near East Beverly Boulevard and south of the 60 Freeway, where they found him and a 41-year-old woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a hospital; he did not survive.
Investigators later confirmed his identity as Luis Canedo and classified the killing as a homicide by multiple gunshot
