In the summer of 2025, the community of Bowling Green, Kentucky, was shaken by the violent and untimely death of 39-year-old Robert Louis Dark Jr. A local business owner, Dark was fatally shot on June 25, 2025, at his car dealership, Martin Auto Mart, located at 1001 U.S. 31-W Bypass. The Bowling Green Police Department responded to a call at approximately 12:21 p.m. regarding an assault with a firearm and discovered Dark deceased inside the business.
