Sara, in a simple act of kindness, reached into her purse to retrieve one. In an instant, the friendly exchange turned into a violent struggle. The woman grabbed for Sara's purse, attempting to snatch it away. Reacting on instinct, Sara held on tight. A single gunshot shattered the night, and Sara fell to the ground, critically wounded in the chest.
The car sped away, disappearing west towards the Las Vegas Strip. In the chaotic aftermath, bystanders rushed to help and call 911.
