On June 15, 2025, Manuel Desierto, 59, a male of Filipino descent, was found on a Los Angeles sidewalk with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified him and recorded the manner of death as suicide, listing the cause as a gunshot wound through the head. Formal pronouncement of death was made that Sunday, and the case was logged under number 2025-09812.
