In the small town of Kimberly, Idaho, a life was tragically cut short on the evening of June 12, 2025. Christopher James DeQuintanaRoo, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot while at a friend's home in the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park. The incident unfolded following a dispute that drew a group of individuals to the residence.
According to reports, an argument had taken place between a resident of the mobile home and another man who arrived with two other individuals.
This altercation escalated, leading to a physical fight outside the trailer. During the confrontation, shots were fired, and DeQuintanaRoo, who had come out of the trailer with another person, was struck by the gunfire. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite the efforts of first responders.
The investigation into the shooting led to the arrest of 19-year-old Daniel Jacob Wise of Pocatello. While the investigation is ongoing, another individual who was with Wise at the time of the incident reportedly identified him as the shooter. Wise was subsequently charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and his bond was set at one million dollars. Another man, Andrew Snyder-Thorstad, aged 19, was also implicated in the events of that night and has been charged with concealing evidence.
Friends and family remember Christopher as a kind-hearted and well-liked young man with a magnetic personality and a bright smile. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time outdoors with his loved ones. A GoFundMe page was established to help his family with funeral expenses, describing his death as a "cold blooded murder." The investigation into his death remains active.
