Sung Yang, a 73-year-old woman and North East Asian was fatally shot on August 16, 2025, in Los Angeles after an argument turned violent in the Harvard Heights neighborhood near the 1300 block of South St. Andrews Place. Officers responded around 10:30 p.m.; both the 73-year-old woman and a passing motorist who tried to help were struck by gunfire and rushed to a hospital, where the 73-year-old woman died.
