Brian Frash, a 36-year-old White male, was shot to death inside a Lucerne Valley residence in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff's Station were dispatched at about 3:30 a.m. to a home in the 10200 block of Alamo Avenue after a report of an unknown problem; they found Frash inside a bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department took over the investigation.
Investigators learned there had been a verbal altercation at the home shortly before the shooting. Both men lived at the residence, though their exact relationship was not immediately clear. The initial call and crime scene details indicated a domestic setting rather than a random encounter.
By that evening, deputies detained and then arrested a suspect identified as Arthur James Archuleta, 70, taking him into custody shortly before 6:30 p.m. at the Sheriff's Lucerne Valley Substation. He was booked on suspicion of murder and held without bail, with an initial court appearance scheduled for Thursday at the Victorville branch of San Bernardino County Superior Court.
