Elizabeth “Maxine” Gandy, a 34-year-old African American woman, was found dead on April 19, 1993, in an abandoned building located at Stratford Avenue and Fifth Street in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Her partially clothed body was discovered in a pool hall within the building, with signs indicating a violent struggle.
