On a warm summer evening in Las Vegas on July 26, 2009, the life of 38-year-old Eric Fuentes, a Hispanic male, was tragically cut short in a violent confrontation. Fuentes, a cook at a local Mexican restaurant, resided in an apartment on Poppy Lane with his two brothers, Sergio and Gustavo, and his young son. The tranquility of their evening was shattered when two armed men confronted Eric outside his home in an attempted robbery.
