In the heat of the southern Nevada desert, the body of a young Hispanic man, Hector Escobar-Rizo, was discovered on August 2, 2009. The 27-year-old male had been shot, his life ending violently and his remains left in a desolate area near Fort Apache and Blue Diamond roads in Las Vegas. The discovery of his body marked the beginning of a homicide investigation that would soon focus on a single suspect.
