In the summer of 2010, a tragedy unfolded at a Las Vegas hospital that cut short a life that had barely begun. Two-month-old Miowne Obote, an African-American female infant, died on July 22, 2010, at Sunrise Children's Hospital. Her death was later ruled a homicide by the Clark County Coroner's Office.
