Troy Covella, an 18-year-old male, was fatally shot in California by Mauricio Rodriguez Silva, a convicted serial killer. Covella's death occurred during a brief period in 1984 when Silva had been released from prison after serving time for a previous manslaughter conviction. The young victim, whose ethnicity is not specified in available sources, was shot nine times by Silva, a Hispanic male born in Los Angeles.
