In June 1985, 67-year-old white female Geraldine Sapp disappeared from her home in Butte County, California. She had been living with her son, John Sapp, a man with a long history of criminal behavior and institutionalization. Geraldine Sapp had not been seen since her son moved in with her earlier that year, and her sudden absence raised suspicions among local authorities.
