Amela Pasanbegovic, a 20-year-old female refugee of Bosnian ethnicity, disappeared on or around July 11, 1995, in Hanover Park, Illinois. She had recently relocated to the United States from Bosnia-Herzegovina with her older sister, 22-year-old female Dzeneta Pasanbegovic, also of Bosnian ethnicity. The sisters had only been in the U.S. for approximately six months before their disappearance. They were living together in a shared residence in Hanover Park at the time.
