In the late hours of a Wednesday evening in Las Vegas, on July 24, 2013, the life of 22-year-old Marqui Hopkins, an African-American male, was tragically cut short. Police were called to the 1700 block of West Bonanza Road, near Martin Luther King Boulevard, around 10:35 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Hopkins suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
