She was last seen on September 18, 1982, leaving behind a void of information and a family plunged into uncertainty. For months, her whereabouts remained a painful mystery, a story with no final chapter. It wasn't until the following year, in 1983, that a grim discovery in a wooded area near Boston brought the search for Kathy to a heartbreaking conclusion. Her remains were found, turning a missing person case into a homicide investigation.
The circumstances surrounding Kathy's death were disturbingly similar to other unsolved cases in the area, leading investigators to suspect a connection to a sinister figure who haunted the Boston area during that time. The name that surfaced was Leonard 'Lenny' Paradiso, a convicted murderer and suspected serial killer. Paradiso, who had been convicted in 1984 for the 1979 murder of 20-year-old Marie Iannuzzi, was a prime suspect in several other disappearances of young women.
