On October 14, 1997, Ronald Martin, a 25-year-old white male and member of a rival gang, was brutally murdered in Atwater Village, Los Angeles. He was shot 28 times in a calculated execution carried out by Timothy Joseph McGhee, a high-ranking member of the Toonerville Rifa 13 gang. This act marked the beginning of a series of violent crimes attributed to McGhee, who terrorized the community with a string of murders and attempted murders over the following years.
