On January 18, 2025, 19-year-old Blake A. Burton, a male resident of Columbus, Texas, was fatally shot in the early hours of the morning. Around 1:00 a.m., Columbus Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1100 block of Walnut Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Blake A. Burton suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Columbus Community Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
