On January 27, 2025, Peggy Lyn White, a 72-year-old white woman, was found dead from a gunshot wound on the front porch of her home in Berryville, Virginia. Authorities discovered her body during an investigation into a house fire on Parshall Road, where two other individuals were also found deceased. The Clarke County Sheriff's Office is treating the incident as a double homicide-suicide.
