On a Thursday afternoon in Las Vegas, on February 4, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the routine of a Chevron gas station located at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Westcliff Drive. When police responded to reports of the shooting, they discovered the body of 27-year-old Steven Wayne Spurlin. He had been fatally shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Clark County coroner's office would later rule his death a homicide.
