On April 25, 2025, 22-year-old Johnathon Cruz, a resident of Georgetown, Texas, was fatally shot outside the city limits of Georgetown. Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 20100 block of McShepherd Road, near State Highway 29. Williamson County EMS arrived at the scene and pronounced Cruz dead.
