In the early morning hours of January 23, 2025, at approximately 12:45 AM, Cumberland County Sheriff's deputies conducted a well-being check at a residence in the 5600 block of Medicus Lane in Hope Mills, North Carolina. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 50-year-old male Johnny Haywood Fisher deceased inside his home. The discovery prompted an immediate homicide investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
