Kamal Walters, a 23-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, was fatally shot in the early hours of March 7, 2025, at a residence on Montmorency Drive in the Cherry Hill subdivision of Pickerington. The Pickerington Police Department received a 911 call at 3:43 a.m. reporting the shooting. The caller, a female, stated that Walters had been shot multiple times and that the suspect had fled the scene in a vehicle.
