In the quiet town of West Greenwich, Rhode Island, the life of 39-year-old Caucasian female Danielle Lynne Arruda was tragically cut short in early January of 2025. A paralegal known for her vibrant personality, she was described by those who knew her as a loving, smart, and caring individual who could light up any room she entered. Danielle, who was seven months pregnant with her third child, was a cherished mother, daughter, and wife.
Concerns arose when Danielle failed to show up for
work on January 2nd and 3rd. Her colleagues, sensing something was amiss, requested a wellness check at her Cheyenne Trail home. On the morning of January 3rd, West Greenwich police officers arrived at the residence. After receiving no answer, they were forced to make entry into the home. Inside, they made a grim discovery.
Danielle, her two young children, ages five and two, and her 39-year-old husband, Nicholas Arruda, were all found deceased. Investigators determined that all four had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The investigation concluded that Nicholas Arruda shot and killed his wife and their two children before turning the weapon on himself in a murder-suicide. The weapon used was a legally purchased semi-automatic M4-style rifle.
