On February 24, 2025, Paul Jaramillo III, a 34-year-old Hispanic man from Anton Chico, New Mexico, was found dead inside his home following a devastating fire. Authorities responding to the scene discovered that the fire was not the only cause for concern—Jaramillo had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The circumstances surrounding his death immediately raised suspicions, prompting an investigation by the New Mexico State Police.
