On a late summer afternoon in Omaha, Nebraska, the life of a young African-American man was tragically cut short in a sudden act of violence. Brandon Thomas, a 21-year-old male, was walking home with a friend on Wednesday, September 5, 2012, after having just left a local convenience store. As they made their way, a vehicle approached them, and unknown individuals emerged, opening fire on the two.
