On November 9, 2010, 20-year-old Angelo Tapia Armando Domena, a male from Omaha, Nebraska, was fatally shot inside the Northside Apartments located at 3025 Meredith Avenue. The incident marked the 30th homicide in Omaha that year, surpassing the total number of homicides in 2009.
Following the shooting, Omaha police arrested 24-year-old Nathan Adkins on suspicion of criminal homicide and a felony weapons charge in connection with the death of Angelo Domena.
Angelo Domena was born on June 24, 1990, and was 20 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents, LaMargo Winston and Angelo Domena III, as well as his sisters, LaMarquetta and Gloria Winston, and LaFonda and LaFerrah Thomas. His grandparents, Loranzer and Janet Davis, also mourn his passing.
The arrest of Nathan Adkins provided some measure of resolution to the tragic loss of the young male from Omaha. The community was reminded of the importance of cooperation with law enforcement to address and prevent such acts of violence.
