On April 25, 2025, Maximo Sanchez, a 20-year-old Latino male from Pomona, California, was tragically shot and killed while working as a delivery driver. The incident occurred around 4:38 a.m. at the Pala Motel, located at 987 East Holt Avenue. Responding to reports of gunfire, Pomona Police Department officers and Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel arrived at the scene, where they found Sanchez suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:53 a.m.
