In the early hours of March 8, 2025, a gathering of people in Rogers, Arkansas, turned deadly, leaving a 41-year-old Hispanic man, Andres Isidro Fonseca, with fatal injuries. The incident unfolded just after midnight in the 3100 block of South B Street. Multiple calls reporting a shooting prompted a response from the Rogers Police Department. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Fonseca had been shot. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries, which were later determined to be approximately nine gunshot wounds.
Investigators pieced together the events of that night using evidence from the scene and surveillance footage. The footage captured a large group of people gathered at the corner of South B Street and East Southern Trace Drive. As Fonseca and others began to walk away, three individuals across from them opened fire. In the chaotic aftermath, the shooters fled the scene. The investigation suggested the shooting could be related to gang activity, with discussions about the 'Southside' gang reportedly taking place before the incident.
In the days and weeks that followed, a significant law enforcement investigation led to the arrest of ten individuals in connection with Fonseca's death. Nine of these individuals, including five teenagers who are being charged as adults, face charges of capital murder and engaging in violent criminal group activity. The suspects were identified as Eileen Rocha, Tevan Ortiz, Junior Rodriguez, Jared Stiles, Amy Mandujano, Jordan Mandujano, Jesus Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, and Cristofer Nicasio. A tenth person, 39-year-old Noel Gates, was charged with soliciting a minor to join a gang and hindering apprehension. Court documents indicated that one of the suspects, Eileen Rocha, had brought her child to the scene where at least 32 rounds were fired from three different guns. Another suspect, Noel Gates, was reportedly a witness to the shooting and had attempted to alter his appearance and relocate with his family following the incident.
