James Conrad Gelvin was a 48-year-old man from the Interior Alaska community of Circle. On January 2, 2025, amid the deep isolation of sub-Arctic territory, his life met a tragic, violent end. He had lived in a shared cabin—simple, remote, frozen by the harsh cold of winter. It was there, just outside its doorway, where the 48-year-old man's fate would be sealed.
