Sherry Wounded Foot, a 50-year-old member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe, was found beaten and unconscious on August 5, 2016, behind a building in Whiteclay, Nebraska. Despite being rushed to Pine Ridge Hospital, she died 12 days later from her injuries. Her death has been classified as a homicide, but her case remains unsolved.
