Sylvester Ayon, a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot on October 1, 1982, while working on a ranch near Santa Ynez in Santa Barbara County. Ayon suffered multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Alongside him, a 17-year-old individual was also shot but survived the attack.
