Wybett Chambers, a Black female, was murdered in early May 1986. Her death is attributed to Jerry Marcus, a Black male born in 1951 in Tuskegee, Alabama, who later became known as the "Tuskegee Strangler." Marcus was a convicted serial killer responsible for multiple murders across several Southern states between 1971 and 1987. He was arrested on April 17, 1987, in Starkville, Mississippi, and subsequently confessed to the killings of at least seven women, including Wybett Chambers.
