Stella Ellen McLean, a 45-year-old Caucasian woman, was a schoolteacher living in Gering, Nebraska. Her life took a tragic and mysterious turn on the evening of February 7, 1978, when she vanished from a restaurant in the neighboring city of Scottsbluff. McLean was never seen alive again.
