Vida Hicks, a 43-year-old Black woman, was one of four victims in a series of brutal murders committed by Francisco del Junco in Miami, Florida, between August 1995 and March 1996. Del Junco, a Cuban-American serial killer, targeted crack cocaine-addicted Black women, luring them with promises of free drugs and sex before beating them to death with metal pipes and setting their upper torsos on fire.
