On November 21, 2007, Michael Scot Louis, a 27-year-old white male from South Daytona, Florida, went missing. His dismembered remains were discovered on December 6, 2007, by a fisherman in Tomoka State Park, Ormond Beach, Florida. The body parts were found packed in black plastic bags and dumped in the Tomoka River. Identification of the remains took several days, and notably, Louis's head was never recovered.
