On June 7, 1901, Florence Sullivan, a white male of unspecified age, was murdered alongside his brother Con Sullivan and fellow prospector F.J. Rooney on Unimak Island in the Aleutian chain of Alaska. The three men, originally from Montana, had recently arrived in Alaska in pursuit of gold prospecting opportunities. Their lives were tragically cut short when they were shot and killed by Fred Hardy, also known by the alias Fred Watkyns. Hardy subsequently robbed them of their possessions.
