Mads Sorenson, a 45-year-old Norwegian-American man, passed away on July 30, 1900, under circumstances that later raised suspicions. Sorenson had taken out two life insurance policies, and on the day of his death, both policies were active simultaneously—one was expiring, while the other was beginning.
