James Mazzara, a 20-year-old white male, tragically lost his life on November 24, 1978. His remains were discovered in the Des Plaines River at Channahon, Illinois, on December 28, 1978. Mazzara was one of the victims of John Wayne Gacy, a notorious serial killer who preyed on young men and boys in Illinois. Gacy, known as the 'Killer Clown' due to his public performances as a clown, was convicted of murdering at least 33 individuals between 1962 and 1977.
