William Huey “Billy” Carroll Jr., a 16-year-old white male from Chicago, disappeared on June 13, 1976, his older brother's birthday. He had promised his father he would return in an hour before getting into a dark-colored car with three or four other teens. Carroll was known to have a penchant for getting into trouble. His disappearance marked the beginning of a series of murders committed by John Wayne Gacy between June 13 and August 6, 1976.
