Janecia Peters, a 25-year-old Black woman, was tragically found dead on January 1, 2007, in an alley located in the 9500 block of South Western Avenue in Los Angeles. Her body was discovered by a homeless man searching for cans, and she had been shot and covered with a garbage bag. Initially listed as an unidentified female, her death was later linked to a series of murders attributed to the notorious serial killer known as the "Grim Sleeper".
