On November 26, 1968, 16-year-old white male Gary Rochet was fatally shot in his home in Granada Hills, California. The assailant, Mack Ray Edwards, had broken into the residence intending to abduct Rochet's younger sister. Upon encountering Gary, Edwards shot him and fled the scene.

Edwards, a heavy equipment operator for Caltrans, was later apprehended and confessed to the murder of Gary Rochet, along with several other child victims. He was convicted and sentenced to death. However, i ...
